DRAMA – MOTIVATION AND SENSITIZATION

 DRAMA – MOTIVATION AND SENSITIZATION

Dear Brothers/Sisters,

You will recall that on Saturday 25 August  last year the Trust had organized  an ‘Assises des Arts et de la Culture Marathi’ at the Maharashtra Bhawan, Moka to formulate a Strategic Action Plan on 5 Disciplines which include Theatre.

During the workshop it was revealed that there was lack of motivation, poor response and also lack of interests regarding participation in drama activities. An example was the declining number of entries over the years in National Drama festivals.

Hence, the Trust has decided in its Action Plan to take the bulls by the horns and to carry out an intensive and aggressive campaign so as to motivate our people starting from the early age for participation in various theatre activities.

The services of the following persons have therefore been enlisted to form part of the Team to carry out the Motivation and Sensitization Campaign in 4 distinct regions as detailed hereunder:

Mr Limbajee Bhiwajee ----------------------------- ----Districts of Plaine Wilhems & Port Louis
Mr Rajen Ramma---------------------------------------- -Districts of Moka and Flacq
Mr Ashok Gowreea & Mr Sonah Dhurmea----- District of Grand Port
Mrs Vashni Purusram & Mr Vijay Moocoond---Districts of Savanne & Black River.

In this context therefore, all Clubs, Associations and Member- Associations of the Mauritius Marathi Mandali Federation are kindly requested to send all those who are interested in drama activities to attend a Preliminary Meeting where the Team Leader will brief all participants about the various aspects of theatre and also to work out a Programme in line with the objectives of this Campaign. The Meet will be held as follows:

  • SATURDAY 23 February at 3.00 p.m at the Black River Ganesh Mandir, Black River for those residing in   Savanne and Black River Districts.

  • SATURDAY 23 February at 3.00 p.m at the Maharashtra Bhawan, Moka for those residing in Plaines Wilhems, Port Louis and Moka & Flacq Districts.

  • SATURDAY 23 February at 3.00 p.m at the Marathi Oopkaree Sabha Hall, Mont Fertile, New Grove for those residing in Grand Port District.

Students in Primary, Secondary and Tertiary Institutions are welcome to join any of those Groups convenient to them.

The Trust is confident that you will cooperate to make this Motivation and Sensitization Campaign a successful one and at the same time fulfilling its objectives of achieving artistic excellence.

Should you need more information you may contact the Secretary of the Trust on Tel. 253 5477 or the undersigned on 754 2042.
Thanking you for your collaboration.

Yours sincerely,
